Account information

When you create an account we store your name, email address, and sign-in credentials (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us in plain text). Email verification status is stored to protect access to your workspace.

Profile information

If you build a study-abroad profile, we store the information you enter: education history, grades and grading scales, work experience, study preferences, funding needs, English-language and test information, and your study goals.

Uploaded documents

Documents you upload — such as CVs, transcripts, certificates, identification documents, English test results, or recommendation materials — are stored in a private document vault tied to your account. Other students cannot see them.

Application information

When you start an application workspace we store the records you create there: checklists, tasks, notes, attached documents, motivation-letter and essay drafts, recommender details you choose to track, status changes, and the history of your own activity on that application.

AI-assisted features

When you use the AI Scholarship Navigator or AI Application Copilot, the questions you ask, your conversation history, the drafts the AI helps you prepare, and your edits and approvals are stored privately under your account so you can return to them.

Scholarship matching information

To show you relevant opportunities, the platform compares the profile information you provided against scholarship records in our database. The results and your saved scholarships are visible only to you.

Contact and support messages

If you contact us through the Contact & Support form, we store your name, email address, chosen category, and message so we can respond.

Analytics and cookies

We use the information above to:

• Create and secure your account and verify your email address.

• Provide AI assistance that draws on your own saved information and active scholarship records.
• Track deadlines, checklist progress, and application status that you set.
• Respond to your support requests and scholarship-correction reports.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your profile, documents, applications, drafts, notes, and AI conversations are private to your account. AfriStudyFree does not share them with other students, and platform administrators do not have automatic access to your application workspaces, documents, drafts, notes, or AI conversations.

AfriStudyFree never submits your information to universities or scholarship providers. Anything you send to an institution is sent by you, through that institution's own official process.

Access to private records is controlled at the database level: each student can only read and modify their own records, and only after verifying their email address. Your documents are stored in private storage and are reachable only through your account.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active so that your workspace, drafts, and history remain available to you.

• View and edit your profile information at any time from your account.
• Upload, view, and remove documents in your private document vault.
• Edit, duplicate, restore, or delete AI-assisted drafts in your application workspaces.
• Remove saved scholarships and application workspaces you no longer want.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data (see below).
• Contact us with any privacy question or concern.

You may request deletion of your account and the information stored with it — including your profile, uploaded documents, applications, drafts, and AI conversations — by contacting us through Contact & Support and choosing the "Privacy or document concern" category. We will confirm your identity before processing a deletion request.
