- Per the 2027 GKS-U guidelines: Tuition — NIIED pays up to 5,000,000 KRW per semester; the university covers any amount above that and the admission fee. Korean language programme fee — actual expense, up to 5,200,000 KRW per year. Airfare — economy class flight ticket (entry airfare NOT provided to scholars already residing in Korea at the final announcement; domestic travel and travel insurance not covered). Monthly allowance — 13,560,000 KRW per year during the Korean language programme; 14,400,000 KRW per year during the degree programme. The monthly allowance is an all-inclusive subsidy of living expenses, accommodation, health insurance, Korean proficiency grants, TOPIK application fee, settlement allowance and degree completion grants (accommodation and health insurance are therefore NOT recorded as separate benefits). Amounts may be subject to change. Visa support: not recorded as a scholarship benefit. Application fee: the 2027 guidelines do not state a GKS application fee; any separate university fee should be confirmed with the university.

- 2027 GKS-U UNDERGRADUATE: EMBASSY TRACK CLOSED (applied online 15 September 2026 11:00–30 September 2026 18:00 KST); cannot start an Embassy application after this cutoff. UNIVERSITY TRACK UIC REMAINS UNIVERSITY-SPECIFIC and has NO universal deadline: KOREATECH (Korea University of Technology and Education) accepts eligible Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering UIC applicants by EMAIL to inter@koreatech.ac.kr until Friday 23 OCTOBER 2026 at 18:00 KST; its programme is taught in English without a separate Korean-language training year. KEIMYUNG UNIVERSITY GKS-UIC accepts applications 14 September–30 OCTOBER 2026 via POST or IN PERSON (Mechanical Engineering, 5 positions); verify document arrival and any applicable time with Keimyung and allow for international delivery. Other approved UIC universities may close on different September–November dates and have different eligibility, programmes and submission methods. Do NOT treat 23 October or 30 October as the GKS-wide cutoff; check NIIED University-Specific Selection Information. Final first-round/university outcomes vary. Korean government scholarship for eligible international students pursuing a bachelor's degree at a participating Korean university. The scholarship period and language preparation vary by the chosen track, university and programme. Some routes include one year of Korean-language training followed by 4–6 years of degree study, but approved English-taught University Track UIC programmes, such as KOREATECH Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, begin degree study directly without a separate Korean-language training year. Check the chosen university’s official 2027 selection notice for the exact programme, language rules and duration. Night-school, short-term, online and distance programmes are not eligible. Transfer to a different field after final selection is not permitted.

- Choose an eligible university and an approved subject from that information.
- Check your chosen university’s deadline and documents, then follow its email, postal or other application instructions.
The Embassy Track is closed for this cycle. There is no universal GKS-U University Track online application form.
