- Four years of fees at the Home rate. For International fee-status students, UCL provides an award to cover the difference between the Home and International fee rate. Maintenance stipend at the UELA enhanced rate, expected to be £26,022 per year for 2027/28 and increasing each year. Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) covers additional costs such as conferences, workshops, training courses and project costs.

UCL states that the 2027/28 eligible-project catalogue and UELA ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL are EXPECTED to open on that date, not guaranteed to be live yet. Check the official UELA 2027/28 page on/after 26 October; do not treat the application form as already open. FINAL APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY 8 JANUARY 2027 at 12:00 NOON UK TIME (12:00 GMT / Europe-London; January UK winter time). This is NOT 11:59 PM or end-of-day. EARLY SUBMISSION STRONGLY ENCOURAGED BY UCL: WEDNESDAY 16 DECEMBER 2026. UCL will be closed over Christmas, without application assistance; both the application and REFERENCES should be submitted by the earlier recommended date wherever possible.
