Programme
Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Public Health in Disasters
Funding type
Competitive fully funded Erasmus Mundus scholarship (selected recipients only)
Covers
Tuition, Living stipend, Travel, Health insurance, Visa support
Details
FULL ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIPS, awarded only to selected high-ranked applicants, include participation/tuition costs and programme insurance, €1,400 per month subsistence support for a maximum of 24 months (subject to programme rules), and applicable travel/installation contributions. Award letters specify individual terms; programme mobility/residence rules can affect full subsistence eligibility. Selected students receive a University of Oviedo support letter for visa/residence applications, which does NOT mean the visa application fee is paid. Accommodation is not separately guaranteed; students must budget housing out of the scholarship/living allowance. Tuition fee waivers, where offered, are DIFFERENT from fully funded Erasmus Mundus awards because a fee waiver does not necessarily pay living costs. No published official programme application fee has been confirmed; do not promise a universal application-fee waiver. Scholarship awards are highly competitive and not guaranteed by admission. Applicants admitted without a full scholarship may face the published non-EU full-programme tuition of €18,000 plus living costs; check fees for their 2027 intake.
Intake
Fall 2027
Deadline
Deadline 31 December 2026 (time not confirmed).
Schedule
2027 INTAKE — APPLICATION OPEN; DEADLINE CONFLICT IN OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY PAGES. 2027 intake general Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Public Health in Disasters (EMJM PHID) application period: OPEN: 1 OCTOBER 2026. CONSERVATIVE/COORDINATING-CONSORTIUM DEADLINE: 31 DECEMBER 2026 (do not wait until January). The programme's homepage states 'The application period will be open from October 1 to December 31, 2026'; its Admission and Selection Criteria and Timetable pages also require applications by 31 December each year. Karolinska Institutet's page has a contradictory paragraph stating 15 January 2027, although on that same page its 'Apply' button reads '1 October–31 December'. University of Oviedo is the coordinating university and directs the admissions process. Until the coordinating consortium explicitly clarifies an extension, use the EARLIER 31 December 2026 deadline as the safe cutoff, not the later disputed date. No exact closing CLOCK TIME or time zone appears in the consortium's official 2027 intake guidance. Do not invent 23:59 or a closing time. Check the online portal and confirm directly with the coordinating University of Oviedo: emmphid.eu@uniovi.es; applicants should submit well before 31 December and should not rely on a January 15 extension. Scholarship not automatically included with admission.

Degree qualification: Master of Medical Science, 120 credits, with a Major in Public Health in Disasters.
