Schedule: 2027/28 CAMBRIDGE TRUST AND MASTERCARD FOUNDATION TRAILBLAZER PHD SCHOLARSHIP — COURSE-SPECIFIC FUNDING DEADLINE (NOT one universal scholarship cutoff). Cambridge's main 2027/28 postgraduate funding deadlines are: • Tuesday 8 DECEMBER 2026 at 23:59 GMT, OR • Wednesday 6 JANUARY 2027 at 23:59 GMT. Which deadline applies DEPENDS ON THE APPLICANT'S SELECTED ELIGIBLE PhD COURSE. Read the selected course's 'Funding Deadlines' and 'How to Apply' pages in the official Cambridge Postgraduate Course Directory and complete the Cambridge Applicant Portal application, upload all supporting documents and ensure that REFERENCES have been received by the earlier applicable COURSE FUNDING DEADLINE. The ordinary PhD programme ADMISSION deadline may be later and does NOT extend Trailblazer funding consideration. Some departments or funders have different or earlier deadlines: check the relevant course, do not assume January 6 applies to all PhD candidates. Trailblazer source specifically states 'Same as funding deadline for the course' and 'Additional questions in the Applicant Portal: Yes.' There is no separate universal Trailblazer PhD application/fee-waiver pathway; do not confuse this doctoral award with the University's distinct Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for ONE-YEAR MASTER'S degrees.
